Inside The Forge: Tour Bend’s Year-Round Ice Facility

Step inside The Forge, and you will find a home for the whole community built around year-round ice. Every space is designed for how Central Oregon actually lives, moves, and connects. Whether you come to skate, train, work, or gather, there is a place for you, from the two NHL-regulation sheets to a warm lounge and a crackling fireplace.
Two Sheets of Year-Round Ice
The heart of the building is the ice. Inside The Forge, two NHL-regulation sheets will run every day of the year. Each one measures a regulation 200 by 85 feet, the standard players compete on across North America. That is championship-caliber ice, right here at home.
Two sheets change what a rink can do. Youth practice can run on one while an adult league plays on the other. The ice will be as dependable in July as it is in January. For a region with one seasonal sheet today, that is a real transformation.
The Athletic Lodge and Fireplace Lounge
Beyond the glass sits the space that makes The Forge a gathering place. The athletic lodge invites you to stay awhile. Picture a warm lounge, a crackling fireplace, and the Ice View restaurant serving food and drink within sight of the sheets. It is built for lingering, the way a mountain lodge is.
Parents will not have to drop and dash. They can settle in with good coffee and watch practice through the glass. A coach waves from across the room. A neighbor saves you a seat. That easy comfort turns a single visit into a weekly habit.
The Pro Shop and Training Gym
The Forge works hard between sessions. A pro shop will handle gear, fittings, and skate sharpening on site. Families will not chase supplies across town before a game. Everything they need will sit under one roof.
A training gym rounds out the athletic side of the building. It will support dryland work, strength, and conditioning for every level and every sport. Skaters can build power off the ice, then carry it straight onto the sheet. You can see how the spaces connect through our programs, which run from learn-to-skate to competitive leagues.
Gathering and Event Spaces
Not every visit to The Forge involves skates. Event and gathering spaces will host birthday parties, team banquets, meetings, tournaments, and community nights. A dedicated VIP lounge will give sponsors, hosts, and special guests an elevated place to watch the action in comfort. The building is designed to stay busy from morning to night.
That flexibility matters for a community facility. Multi-use spaces keep the calendar full and the doors open, which is part of what makes the model sustainable. There is room here for a youth tournament, a corporate gathering, and a Friday night celebration alike.
Step Inside The Forge in 360°
You do not have to wait for opening day to look around. Explore the renderings and 360° views of the facility to get a real feel for the space before it is built. They bring every corner to life, from the ice to the lounge.
Picture your family settling in by the fireplace, or your kid taking a first lap on fresh ice. Seeing it is what makes the whole vision click into place.
